for 1935. PACIFIST WRITER. “AN AFFRONT TO GERMANY.” OLSO, Nov. 24. Dr. Sahm, German Minister, commenting on Ossietzsky and the Nobel Prize being awarded to him said: “In my opinion the decision must be regarded as a deliberate demonstration against Germany.” It is officially stated that “the fact that the Nobel Prize has been awarded to the notorious traitor Ossietzsky is such a shameless provocation and insult to new Germany that an appropriate and clear answer will follow. It is the first time in history that the prize has been awarded to a traitor.”
