Grace once ordered an umpire off the Held for giving him out. but football had no parallel to that classic story (Pat Hendren owns the copyright) until a few days ago, the Daily Sketch records. A referee in charge of a soccer match in the Reading district warned one of the players that if he wasn’t ■ more careful with his feet he would be ordered off the field. The player replied that if the referee wasn’t more careful he and the players would be ordered off. “It’s my field,” he said.
