NET PROFIT AGAIN HIGHER The English, Scottish and Au>.ralian Bank, Ltd., made a net iroiif of £257,460 for the year ended .lime compared with £213,579 tin* pre\ ious year and £221,563 for 1933-34. An interim devidend of 21 per cent, has been paid, requiring £75.000. and a final dividend at the same rule is recommended, making 5 per cent, for the year, free of United Kingdom income tax. A sum of £15,000 is transferred to reserve fund, making it. £3,265.000 and £lO.OOO to ofiiccrs’ provident fund (compared with £500.d last year, i Other allocations are £50.000 io contingencies reserve and £25.000 to cont ingene’es reserve and £25.000 to hank premises, and £306,787 is carried forward, against £299,323 brought forward. Gross prolit rose by £76,855 and expenses and taxation by £62.974.
