NO INTERVENTION
ROOSEVELT’S ATTITUDE Received Nov. 8, 11.55 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 8. The Secretary of Labour, Mr Francis Perkins, announced that Mr Roosevelt had declined to intervene in the strike which was paralysing the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf traffic. Mr Perkins added that 'he Atlantic tieup, which was merely a sympathetic demonstration presenting no demands, might be extended to a general maritime strike.
