MURDER PLOT

ALLEGATIONS AGAINST CHINESE SERVANT Received Oct. 18, 6.8 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 17. A diabolical plot ot Oriental cunning to murder by slow poison the niece of a wealthy widow, his employer, and also the niece s husband, and clear the way to the sole inheritance of an estate are allegations against Chang Soo Lee, cook and majordomo in a home at White Plains, New York. The police are also investigating the sinister fact that the widow's former husband, a prominent lawyer, Lawrence Churchill, died suddenly in January, apparently from natural causes, and was cremated on Chang’s advice. lhe victims, Mr. and Mrs. George Reeves, both aged 50, are in hospital with paralysed feet as a result of a huge overdose of lead acetate. Chang is a short, unobtrusive man who has been employed by the Churchills for eight years and was implicitly trusted by Mrs. Churchill, who is said to have promised to “remember" Chang in her will.
