NEW BOOKS ADDED "I’KOSPECHNG FOR GOLD" | Probably one of the most popular J books included in the latest works added to the shelves of the Wanganui I Public Library is "Prospecting for Gold," by lon L. Idriess, author of "Lasseter's Last Ride,” "The Cattle King" and a host of hooks dealing with the early days of the colonisation of Australia. Another book of interest to New Zealanders is the Hon. J. A. Lee's ' The Hunted." A large number of books, including several of Arthur .Mee's popular works, have been added to the juvenile section of the library. FIRE AT ASHBURTON DWELLING AND GLASSHOUSE LOST (Per Pres? ahso .ationj ASHBURTON, Oct. 18. Fire destroyed a dwelling ana glasshouse with plants, owned by Mr G. A. Bushell, a gardener, of Smithfield Road. The house, of five rooms, which was not usually occupied, was insured for £5OO in Lloyd’s and the glar-house and plants were valued at £259. Mr Bushell lit a b.re to toil a preparation of tjrpt-Eiiue. sulphur ana beeswax for grafting trees and the building ignited in his absence. i
