Dairy Advances Expanding NOTE ISSUE HIGHER The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on Monday, October 12, is as follows:
j Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less No. 5) to notes and oth£r demand liabilities, 85.170 per cent., compared with 86,698 per cent, on October 5. An advance of £29,902 brings the total note issue up to £11,325,256. Demand liabilities to the State total £4,083,088, an increase of £257,232. The trading banks’ reserve balances at £7.199,185, show an increase of £19,297. Other demand liabilities amount to £203,064, an increase of £72,505. Other liabilities are £101,132, a decrease of £1396. On the assets side, advances to the State's dairy industry account show a further expansion of £397,659, the total now standing at £1,862.120. Advances to the State for other purposes are unchanged at £700,000. ' Sterling exchange at £16,626.195 shows a decrease of £19.906. Gold is unchanged at £2,801.788. Subsidiary coin is £934 less at £168,016. Investments totalling £2,186.244. show no change. Other assets total £67,361, an increase of £721. The statement balances at £24,411,726, an increase of £377,539
