FLOCK HOUSE TRUSTEE

THOUGHT PLAN WAS DEAD "I know nothing of any fresh negotiations,” said Mr T. R. Lees, o? Palmerston North, managing trustee of Flock House, w’hen interviewed concerning the London Times’ report that the London organisation of the Fairbridge Farm Schools is negotiating for the acquisition of the Flock House Farm School at Palmerston North. "There were negotiations about six months ago, when the Fairbridge Farms secretary visited New Zealand, but these did not come to anything and we have considered them as being dead.” Mr Lees said that even if the negotiations were reopened he did not think there would be a possible chance of the Government agreeing to take part. The Government did not consider the time was ripe for immigration on the Fairbridge lines, and was anxious that Flock House, for some considerable time to come, would continue to train New Zealand boys.
