NATIONAL DEFENCE
MOVEMENT OUTLINED [Per Press AseociaJonJ DUNEDIN, Oct. 11. The scope ot a movement to foster the defence of the Dominion was outlined this'morning Dy Mr. Barrowclough, an Auckland solicitor. Although he slated the full disclosure could not be made until after a conference of delegates from the four centres at Wellington to-morrow, Mr, Barrowclough said there was some misapprehension as to the objects of the National Defence League. It was not Fascist nor anti-Government, but desired full community support, including Labour. There was no thought of dictating to the Government but merely to ensure that, with due regard to finance, young men as well as the resources of the country would be efficiently organised so that war would not find us untrained or halt trained. Provincial committees already existed in the four centres.
