CROWN PROSECUTOR
WELLINGTON APPOINTMENT W. H. CUNNINGHAM SELECTED [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. < Mr W. H. Cunningham has been appointed Crown Prosecutor at Wellington in succession to the late Mr P. S. K. Macassey, the Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, announced to-night. Mr William Henry Cunningham, D. 5.0., who is a practising barrister and solicitor in Wellington, was born at Wellington in 1883, and was educated at the Wanganui High School and the Wanganui Collegiate School. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1907, and as a barrister in 1912, and for some years was senior partner in the firm of Cunningham and Christie, of Wanganui. Mr Cunningham has served in the New Zealand Military Forces since 1902. He served in Egypt. Gallipoli and France during the Great War, and in the last campaign was wounded. He was mentioned in despatches on four occasions and was awarded the D. 5.0., the long service and tne efficiency service medals. He holds the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, and is a well-known figure in military circles.
