NEW CHAIN STORES
SELFRIDGES (N.Z.) LTD. fPrr Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. A public company with a nominal capital of £300,000 was registered in New Zealand to-day under the name of Sei fridges (N.Z.) Ltd., the objects of the concern being to conduct a chain store business in the Dominion. The company intends to expend £loo,’ 00G on the first of its chain ot stores. The first will be established in the four main centres and in the smaller centres later. Negotiations are being carried out at present for a central site at Wellington. A large proportion of the shares will be held by Selfridges (Australasia) Ltd. Mr. F. N. Harper, co-managing-director of the Australian company, arrived in Wellington on Monday by the Awatea and immediate steps were aken to register the company.
