FURTHER INCREASE
PLACEMENT SERVICE TOTALS A further increase of 677 mert placed in private employment was recorded by the State Placement Service during the week ended last Saturday. Since the service came into operation under the name of the Labour Department’s Placement Scheme it has been responsible for the re-employment of 8872 men. The Wellington office is far ahead of any other in New Zealand with a total of 1361. The following table gives details of the.number of positions filled through each office:—
