OHAKUNE BALL
W.D.F.U. AND FARMERS’ UNION SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION On Tuesday, September 8, the annual farmers’ ball, run by the W.D.F.U. and the Farmers’ Union, was held in the Majestic Hall, Ohakune. The night was fine and 400 dancers, with visitors from Raetihl, Taumarunui, Raetihi, Wanganui, Karioi, attended. Mr Lloyd Hammond (Hunterville), and Mr K. M. Lyttle (Feilding), provincial president and provincial secretary, respectively, of the Farmers’ Union, were present, also. Hooker’s orchestra, from Stratford, provided most excellent music, and Mr S. Thomas and Mr C. Marshall were M’s.C. The supper was one that, farmers’ wives can be justly proud of. The supper room was prettily decorated with spring flowers and coloured lights.
