TAXICAB BUSINESS
COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY SITTINGS BEGIN MONDAY {Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. In connection with the inquiry to be held into the taxicab and towncarrying business the committee chairman (Mr. P. M. Butler) said that the investigation would open in Wellington on Monday morning. All evidence would be taken under oath. He proposed heating the taxicab problem first and to commence the inquiry into the town carrying business on Thursday. The committee would sit also at Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Timaru, Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth. Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarsi, Rotorua, Gisborne, Napier-Hastings, and Masterton. Mr. A. L. Lynskey is secretary and all inquiries should be directed to him at the Transport Department, Wellington.
