DAIRY PRODUCE

GUARANTEED PRICE CONFIDENT OF SUCCESS BRITISH BUYERS PLEASED [Per Press Association] DUNEDIN, July 30. “I am confident of the success of the guaranteed price scheme for butter,” stated Mr. H. H. Innes, who returned this morning by the Rangitata from a visit to Britain on behalf of the Dairy Board to study the market prospects. Mr. Innes stated that the bigger British buyers welcomed the scheme, appreciating the New Zealand Government’s endeavour to eliminate speculation. So far as the better class of butter was concerned, the Dominion need fear no Danish rivalry, our only serious competitor being Australia, which was running a very close second. Public opinion at Home was favouring the fresh-cream type that the Dominion was now producing. Mr. Innes is proceeding to Wellington to report to the hoard.
