WHITE WOMEN INVOLVED CONST A BEE’S AI XE< i ATION. BATHURST, July 24. Allegations that white women uei assisting in the trafiic in opium wei ■nade by the police in the Bathur. (N.S.W.) Police Court to-day. Willie Loy, 66, ’ market gardene was charged with smoking opium ar having prepared opium in his posse sion. Loy was fined £2, in default fi\ days’ imprisonment, on the fir charge, and £2O, or 4 Odays’ imprisoi ment, on the second. Constable A. M. Wells gave evident jf a raid on Loy’s home and the di zovery of a quantity of opium. Wei .aid that he found Loy smokir jpium. Loy had been a trader in tl drug for a number of years. White women frequently visited Lc and distributed opium among oth< Chinese, Wells added. Walter Hing, 54, convicted of havir utensils for smoking opium in h possession, was bound over for months.
