THE DIRECTORSHIP 150 APPLICATIONS MADE B STATIONS TO BE VALUED WELLINGTON, July 30. ’ The Government has received ov< 150 applications for the position < Director of Broadcasting in New Ze; land,” announced the Prime Ministi to-night. There were numerous cai didates for the position from Austr lia and some from oven further atiel and from a cursory examination tho applications he personally v; satisfied the services of several oc standing men were available. “We also propose to have a gene, inspection and valuation of the vai ous B stations. ' Mr Savage continue “Departmental officers will be spec ally assigned to this task within tl next few days and they will value c stations from the point of view the broadcasting service provided well as of the plant in use. These d tails will be necessary when the Go ernment is determining the rate subsidy to be paid to individual stations or the purchase price of ‘ho to be bought out for use as commo cial stations.”
