KARIOI MEETING The Karioi Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting on Wednesday with a good attendance of members. The competition, “Best iced cake,’’ was won by Mi's Sinnett, and “Organdie petal work’’ was won by Mrs ■Stubbing. The roll eall, “Aly most embarrassing moment,’’ was tyell responded to. “Best ironed tablecloth,” as a competition, and the roll will, “Suggestions for a programme,” are for July. It was also decided to hold a learners’ dance evening once a fortnight, the admission to be threepence. A very interesting demonstration of knitting was given by Airs .Huddleston, for which she was accoirded a hearty vote of thanks. Mrs H. Russell kindly judged the competition for the egglcss fruit cake. Results were: Mrs Sanson 1, Airs Tattle 2, Mrs Klatt 3. A competition, guessing girls’ names, caused mu'ch amusement and was won by Aliss Trickier. ' A very dainty afternoon tea. was served by Mrs Sanson, Mrs Crosland, Misses Hargraves and Russell. The afternoon was brought to a close by idle singing of the 11 National Anthem. ’ ’
