The Maori Council concluded, the taking of statements from Maoris with reference to the Nelson murder, but it is not known whether tae statements will be of use to the police. The detectives are anxious to locate the driver of a car which parsed Nelson’s gate between 7.40 aud 7.50 on the night of the murder. They believe that if the driver came forward the police would be assisted in their i n v e s t i ga t i ons.
