I The new reinforced concrete bridge built to replace Morgan’s bridge at . Mangapurua is now finished and open , for traffic. The bridge is about 130 feet long and about ’25 feet from the r creek. The contractors, Messrs. JSand- ’ ford and Brown, have made a good ■’ job and the bridge should be suf- . licient to carry all the traffic for very j many years. The Mangatititi Road is now open for wheel traffic after the flood damage. A track has been formed through the slips and the completion of the clearing is in course of progress. The restora? tion of the flood damage is practically completed on the Onara Road. \ The Matihiwi Road in the Parapara ! district has been cleared of slips and remetalled and further work will be done to bring it up to normal when other more pressing work has been finished. The metalling of the OruaL * kukuru Road has been stopped for the ' winter and the men removed to other places. The construction of the breastwork e at the subsidence on O’Neill's hill on the Parapara Road will be put in hand c shortly, as the willow- logs and ri branches have been delivered to the e si to.
