WANGANUI ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING HELD ELECTION OF OFFICERS At the third annua] general meeting the Wanganui Table Tennis Associa" lion the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. John Coull; president, Mr. W. J. Gillies; vice-presidents, Alcssr.-. J. E. Alarshall, G. IE Pownall, E. Feist, G. Fisher and E. J. Williams; hon, secretary and treasurer, Air. J. Dempsey; management committee, Messrs. E. H. Jones, L. O. Bildcrbeck, J. O. Connor, D. Bridges. J. Falkner; delegates to the New Zealand Table Tennis Association. Messrs. J). Dale. K. Congreve, IL Pyle; hon. auditor, Mr. J. Kearney. The annual report stated that six clubs were affiliated, viz.: St. John’s, Durie Hill, St. Lawrence’s, Kai, Iwi. Post and Telegraph, Brunswick. Four grades of inter-club competi tions were run, twenty-s’x teams tom ’ poling. The winning teams were:—A J grade: Post ami Telegraph Club. C i grade: Post and telegraph Club. C grade: St. Lawrence’s Club. D grade: Brunswick Club. The winners of the annual championships were:—Alen's championship singles: L. Connor (Durie Hill). Ladies’ championship singles: Mrs. Marshall (St. John’s). Alen's championship doubles: Messrs. Healey and Jones (Post and Telegraph). Ladies’ championship doubles: Misses Punell (St. John’s). Combined championship doubles: Jones and Miss Purcell. The winners of the B grade were:--Men’s singles; B. Hawkins (Post and Telegraph). Ladies’ singles: Miss E. I Nicholls (Brunswick). Broad. 9. Dempsey. 10. Byers. 11. Parker. 12. Garner. Even numbers are to play numbers above. Challenges must be complete by June 3 and result handed by the winner to J. Dempsey, e/o Mason Struthers and Co., Ltd., sports department.
