HERD TESTING
MANAWATU ASSOCIATION FIGURES FOR FEBRUARY’. The Mauawatu Herd Testing Atsoeiation reports upon testing carried out locally during the month of Febru* ary as follows:
The highest group in the association, was that of Stanley-Feilding wherein 445 cows averaged 6661 b. milk, 5.2 test, 34.831 b. fat, Fordell group being second with 659 cows averaging GS9lb. milk, 4.9 test, 33.831 b, fat, the Levin group being fourth highest. The association tested in all 16,571 cows, the average cow producing 6141 b, m". k of 5.0 test, 30.141 b. fat. The highest herds in the local groups for February were:—
The highest herd in the association was one of six cows in tho Fordell group which averaged 53.331 b. fat, tho second highest being one of six cows which averaged 49.331 b. fat tested in the Rapanui group. The highest cows in the local groups produced Wangaehu 631 b., Fordell 741 b., Makirikiri-Okoia G3lb., Brunswick-Kai Iwi 691 b., Wcst-mere-Rapanui 681 b. The highest cow in the association, produced 741 b. fat. The following is an analysis of herds according to size showing* the highest herd in each class.
