The principal change in this week’s return is a large increase of £1,393,179 in the bank’s call liabilities to ths State, which now stands at the high level of £8,508,649. The trading banks’ call funds total £9,404,810, a decrease of £729,154. The not issue at £9,859,877, shows a decrease of £33,912. Other
demand liabilities total £82,827, an increase of £7790. Other liabilities stand at £131,718, an increase of £5146. On the assets eide, sterling exchange shows a further increase of £684,699, the total of £24,663,799 representing a total increase of about. £2.184,000 during the last three weeks. Gold remains > unchanged at £2,801,733. Subsidiary i coin totals £197,192, a small decrease of ■ £332. Investments at £1,784,343 are higher by £2419. Other assets at £40,- ' 815 show a decrease of £43,737. ! The statement balances at £29,487,i,- 881 17s 10d, an increase of £643,048 jr 17s 4d.
