A special race, the All-age Stakes, unique in light-harness racing m New Zealand is included in the programme for the’ Ashburton Trotting Club s autumn meeting. The race is after the stvlo of a weight-for-age in gallops, with penalties, and is to be run over 1J miles. It will bo a sweepstake ot £2O, with £5OO added. WANGANUI CLUB ANNUAL RACE MEETINGS. NOMINATIONS ON THURSDAY. The Wanganui Trotting Club, whieli last year staged the wonderfully successful match race between Harold Logan and Impromptu, will Hold its annual race meeting on Saturday. March 08 and Saturday, April 4- The committee still have hopes of securing the support of one on two publie-spmted owners who will be agreeable to matching their champions in order to show the light-harness enthusiasts some sparkling trotting. An endeavour is being made to induce the Auckland trainer, F. J. Smith, to match one of his best horses against another of good class, and with the many successes which have come the way of the Takanini trainer this season, there is a likelihood that he will be found driving one of his best horses against another near champion at the forthcomin" fixtures.
