MOTOR-BUS STRIKERS
ORDERED BACK TO WORK COMMISBIONER ’8 DECISION LONDON, Jan. .14. A new precedent was created when the- Government Traffic Commissioner used his powers to order motor-bus workers at Southampton, who have been on strike since January 1, back to work, declaring that the decision has nothing to do with the merits of the dispute, and that the public convenience must come first. The Commissioner also ordered employers to resume bus services, otherwise he would consider revoking the licences of employers, and the men would be given an opportunity of stating their cases in the Emergency Court under the provisions of the Road Act. _____
