BANNERETTE MATCH ST. JOHN'S RETAIN TROPHY. WANGANUI HAST CHALLENGE. The St. John’s Bowling Club’s green was the venue of another challenge mater for the Bannerette, the challengers being from the Wanganui East Club. The visitors were ahead 3 —2 after the fourth head but St. John’s scored 4,1, 3 to the challengers’ 2 and were thus 5 points ahead. Wanganui East evened the score with 3 and 2 but St. John’s then forged ahead to lead IS—--10 on the 14th head. Scoring was even till the 18th head when the card showed 20—14. The visitors obtained a single and a two and were thus only 3 points be hind commencing the last head. They were actually lying 5 points for a win till the St. John’s skip drew a beauty for shot, the game thus ending St John’s 21. Wanganui East 17. The teams were as folio wist. John’s: O.
