City Water Supply. In spite of the dry weather the Okehu dam, which supplier Wanganui with about two and a-half million gallons of water each day, is still maintaining a good level and compares more than favourably with this time last year. As yet the City Council has not had to resort to- pumping water from the Kai Iwi springs, which was being done 12 month** ago, but owing to the pipe lines being unable to cope with any more than present demands, hosing restrictions are still imperative. The heavy rain a week before Christmas has helped the position considerably and it scenns likely that even a prolonged spell of dry weather will not produce an acute shortage of water. Kitson was engaged in attending to the replenishing of the water containers of several cars and was on the roof of one, when he apparently slipped and fell to the platform.- No one actually saw the accident happen, but one person noticed him regain his feet, walk a short distance and then collapse. He was attended by Ur. Reid. k-.-Fast Air Trip. A fast journey by air from Wanganui to Palmerston North was made by Mr. W. M. O’Hara yesterday afternoon.
