LITTLE GIRL’S DEATH 1 [Per Press Association. ] WAIROA, Dec. 2. Valerie Joy Lawrence, 10 years, met instant death this afternoon when she collided with a lorry loaded with metal. It appears that the girl was riding a cycle along the road and endeavoured to pass the lorry, driven by William Baker, a borough employee. She swerved in a’nd fell under the rear wheel, suffering frightful head injuries. On arrival, within a few minutes, a doctor could only pronounce life extinct.
