As a sequel to Sikhs demolishing the Shadidjung Mosque in July a series of demonstrations culminated in SikhMoslem riots. Three people were killed and 25 injured. The Royal Scots Fourteenth and the Junjabis are patrolling the city, which the police have picketed. A curfew has been instituted.
