DAIRY PRODUCE

SHIPPING AGREEMENT AMENDMENT IN TERMS HOPED FOR. Owing to the nature of the season the amount of dairy produce handled at the Wanganui Harbour Board’s grading stores at Castlecliff has been less this year than last up to the end of November. It is expected, however, that while the volume of produce showed a falling tendency in December of last year, the opposite will be the case on this occasion. In 1934 the season was particularly dry at this time of the year and butterfat returns showed a downward tendency on that account. This year the wet season, with its consequent lack of nourishment in the grass has kept production down. If fine weather rules now and conditions drop back to normal the jeturns for December should show a decided increase as compared with those of last year.
