BRITISH ELECTIONS GOVERNMENT MAJORFfY 247 LONDON, Nov. 25. The three retiring candidates were re-clccted for .Scottish Universities, including Mr. A, N. Skelton, whose death, occurred a few hours before the closing of the poll. The final state of parties is:— Government 431 Opposition 184 The election of Mr. Skelton will render a by-election necessary. A cable received yesterday stated that the newspapers were canvassing the possibility of either Mr. Malcolm MacDonald or Air. Ra'msay MacDonald receiving nomination for the vacant seat.
