Meteorological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, November 12, I p.m. General Situation. —A depression still envelopes the Dominion, barometers to-dav being lowest in the Cook Strait area. A slight anticvclone is advancing slowly across the Tasman. ‘ Forecast—Winds: Westerly at first about Cook Strait, otherwise moderate to strong southerlies prevailing. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rou<»h on the west coast of the North Island, elsewhere moderate tu rather rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds with moderate seas. Weather: Mainly cloudy to overcast and cold, with scattered rain. Improving temporarily to-morrow, however, more especially in western areas. The’New Zealand Friends’ School, St. Jehn’s Hill, report for 21 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 6 hours 40 minutes. Kainfall, .06 inches. Shade temperature: Maximum, 62 deg. Fahr; minimum, 48 deg. Fahr. Time of sunset to-day, 7.10 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 4.57 a.m. (Summer time).
