The Communist I'nity at Granvillf suburb, preparatory to holding a meet' ing to advocate “hands off Aby» sinia,” sent invitations to the clergy in the district to attend and give their co-operation. A spokesman for the clergy replied regretting that they were unable to attend. “We desire your Communist organisation to know that the Christian •C’nur<‘h is against war, whether Imperialist or Bolshevist.” said the spokesman. “Wo strongly condemn Italy’s attack on. Abyssinia, but for] we cannot associate ourselves with the Communist Party, which wages relentless war on religion throughout the world.
