DOCTOR LAWS DEGREE

NEW ZEALAND SCHOLAR'S SUCCESS, 1 Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. The degree of Doctor of Laws was conferred on Roy Granville AicElroy at Auckland University -College today by the executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate. Air. McElroy graduated Alaster of Laws in 1929. He gained a law travelling scholarship in 1932, and proceeded to Cambridge, where he qualified for a doctorate in philosophy. The thesis for which he has been awarded his LL.D., dealt with the impossibility of the performance of contract. The examiner was Dr. J. G. Foster, lecturer in All Souls College, Oxford.
