Adolph Mann, visiting examiner:—Licentiate diploma: Joan Howie (Airs. Bowick, A.T.C.L., R.AI.T.) 72. Junior Division: Edith Scott (Miss Mountfort, A.T.C.L., R.AI.T., ALT.A. N.Z.) 78. Examiner’s remarks: Alias Edith Scott’s work was most commendable. PERSONAL Air. H. Leon Wilson, who has been headmaster of the Alarton District High School for over 12 years, has been appointed headmaster of St. Clair School, Dunedin. He leaves Alarton in January. This week has been a gay one and the other night an impromptu surprise party arrived at “Thoresby,” the residence of Air. and Airs. A.. Caccia-Birch, in honour of Afiss Shora Williams, Gisborne, a younger sister of Airs. Birch. The guests danced in the hall, a unique supper followed, no less than saveloys and beer, which were served in the dining-room There were charming spring flowers in abundance. Airs. Birch wore black lace, Aliss Shora Williams black taffeta, and the organiser, Aliss Arkwright, pale pink elephant crepe. WRESTLING, At a meeting of the executive of the Alarton AVrestling Club last evening, presided over by Air. K. H. Fowler, it was decided to write to the New Zealand Wrestling Association to ascertain what support would be forthcoming in the event of the club holding another tourney. JUNCTION CRICKET CLUB The Junction Club will play a game against a Alarton Chib eleven during th© week-end, and the following will represent Junction:—Cullen, Paulding, Earby, Whitcombe (2), Mann, Foote, Lea, Horsman, C. Rose, Michalick, Lawson.

The game will commen'ce nt 1.30 .sharp on the Oval.
