WANGANUI GUN CLUB OPENING OF NEW SEASON wester:; cur winner The opening shoot of ttie new year was held ou the Wanganui Gun Club's grounds on Saturday last, when quite an enjoyable time was spent. The shooting conditions were tricky owing to the southerly breeze which lifted the birds very high immediately they left the trap. Lrider the conditions the performances of the shooters during the afternoon were quite good. Moore-Hunter won the Western Cup after a shout-off with H. Quarterman, both these shooters having shot 2U out of 21. Afternoon tea was kindly dispensed by Mrs. Kempton. Following are the results: — Six-bird Eye-opener C. Kempton, 18yds 6 A.
