Eliminating two British players, Miss Mona McLeod and Mrs. Morpeth won their way to-day to the quarterfinals in the women’s golf championship, defeating Miss Anderson, leader of the qualifiers, and Miss Wade. Miss McLeod gained her victory over Miss Anderson by splendid golf but only won on the 18th g’cen. Superior porting enabled Mrs. Morpeth to defeat Miss Wade. Miss Barton won at the 14th from Miss Hood Hammond (New South Wales). Scores: — Mrs Yuille (New South Wales) d>. feated Miss Marrie (New South-Wales) 1 up. Mrs. McKay defeated Miss Ryml’.i (South Australia) at the 19th. Miss McLeod defeated Miss Anderson 1 up. Mrs. Morpeth defeated Miss Wale 2 p. Mrs. Walker defeated Miss Kernot (Victoria) 5 and 4. Mrs. Greenlees defeated Miss Gardiner (Queensland) 5 up and 3. Miss Barton defeated Miss Hood Hammond 5 and 4. Miss Nankivell (Victoria) defeated Miss Fraser at the 21st. The quarter-finals will be played on Monday. The mixed foursomes championship will be played to-morrow. RICHARDSON WINS PROFESSIONAL TITLE EXCITING FINAL STAGES Received Aug. 30, 11.25 p.m. ADELAIDE, Aug. 30. V. S.
