WANGANUI ASSOCIATION WINTER SHIELD MATCH. SATURDAY ’8 GAMES. The principal feature in the Wanganui Hockey Association’s fixtures for next Saturday will be the Winter Shield match between the Taranaki (holders) and Wanganui colts. The game will be played at Gonville Park and is timed to start at 3.30 p.m. 'The Wanganui team is much stronger this season and hopes are entertained that it wilt recover the coveted trophy. A great game is predicted. The second attraction is the play-off between Ratana and Kaiwhaiki for the women’s B section trophy. This game should also be well worth watching, as both the teams are very evenly matched and drew on the last occasion they met. The men’s A and B games will also be played, as further postponements would delay the competition unduly’ The following grounds and umpires have been allotted:— Winter Shield.—Representative game, Taranaki v. Wanganui, on No. 1 ground, at 3.30 p.m. Umpires, Mr. J. S. Tizard and Taranaki nominee. Cup Final (Women’s B Division).— Ratana v. Kaiwhaiki, on No. 1 ground, at 2 p.m. Messrs. Thompson and Atkins.
