FERTILITY VITAMIN
IMPORTANT DISCOVERY. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 21. A biochemical discovery of considerable importance was revealed here before the American Chemical {Society With rhe announcement tnat Professor Evans, University of California, who in 1922 identified Vitamin E had finally i succeeded in isolating an element found in the wheat germ, lettuce, cotton seed, and some other green vegetables known as the fertility vitamin, the absence of which in the diet of mammals produces stt rility. The scientist succeeded in obtaining crystals with high vitamin E potency, and state* that he expected to produce the dement in commercial quantities within 90 days.
