IDLE SHIPS MUST SAID. Received Aug. 22, 11.58 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 22. It was reported to-night that shipowners are getting the idle vessels ready to sail at the week-end. It is also stated that if the strike is not settled to-morrow, the Burns Philp Company intended to" call for volunteer crews for the Island ships. The Federal Attorney-General already has warned the seamen that the Government will not tolerate a continuance of the hold-up of the Island steamers, which receive a subsidy for carrying mails and supplies to thf Islanders, who are likely to be seri ously inconvenienced and would por sibly suffer great hardship by th seamen’s action. It is expected tbat'the WungaaelH will sail for Wellington at S pjji. tomorrow.
