SECOND WITHIN YEAR
JEWELLER’S SHOP ROBBED SAFE-BLOWERS AT AUCKLAND [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. For tho second time within a year tho premises of James Pascoe, jewellers, in Karangahapo Road, were robbed last night or early this morning. On September 20 last burglars entered through a skylight and. stole £l4OO worth of jewellery. Since then the skylight has been bolted from tho inside, but burglars last night climbed to a window on tho second floor and used a hacksaw on tli-e iron bars and crawled through. They blew open one safe with gelignite and [hen forced their way into the stockroom. They spent some time in the warehouse aud opened another safe from which they took everything of value, including a bar of gold, gold filings, and many precious stones to the value of £7OO. From other parts of the premises they stole general jewellery of a value not fully ascertained, but known to exceed £lOOO.
