WANGANUI MATCHES METROPOLITAN UNION FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY Another series of matches in the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union’s competitions will be played on Saturday, though there will be no junior fixtures owing to the representatives having an engagement at Palmerston North. The following are the fixtures and referees for next Saturday: Senior Technical Old Boys v. Kaierau, on Racecourse No. 4, at 1.30 p.m. Marist v. Old Boys, on Spriggens Park at 3 p.m. P: rates v. Technical B, on Racecourse No. 2, at 3 p.m. “HOUSE” MATCH PLAYED BANKS AND STOCK FIRMS Y EST E R D A Y ’S D It A W N G A M E A “house” match between teams representing the banks and the stock firms of Wanganui was played on the racecourse yesterday afternoon and resulted in a draw. Owing to rhe rain squalls it was not started until late in the afternoon and was played under adverse conditions. Oldham scored two fries, converting one, and Stcere one try for the Banks. Points for the Stock Firms were gained by Mi-Carthv and Davidson, who scored a try each, while McCormack kicked a penalty and converted one try. Mr E. J. Crotty was the referee.
