DUCHESS THEATRE

Beautiful music and delightful humour arc deitly blended in the musical comedy “One Night of Love/* which is screening to-night at the Duchess Theatre. With its glorious singing, its charming story, and the finished acting of all its principals the film is one of the most entertaining seen for sonre Lime. Grace Moore reveals a personality which would win her an important place even without her voice, but the combination of beauty and charm, with thrilling singing, places her m a pre-eminent position. Although it is the music which makes the picture outstanding, there is no suggestion that- the story cxis’s merely to introduce the many operatic excerpts which are sung. Actually the romance of a young singer with her imperious tutor develops on thoroughly entertaining lines. This is partly due to the amusing portrayal of Tullio Carminati, whoso characterisation is al matt perfect. Other prominent roles are in the competent hands of Mona Barrie and Lyle Talbot.
