“ UNFIT TO GOVERN ” MR. MAXTON'S OPINION. LONDON. Aug. 5. “Some years ago I strongly resented Mr. Churchill’s statement that the Labour Party was not fit to govern. To-day I recognise that he was right,” declared Mr. Maxton, speaking at the Independent Labour Party’s summer school. He added: “The Trade Union Con gress is still not fit to govern Britain safely and intelligently. However, J continue to believe that only the work ing class movement can deal with the problems confronting us.”
