PAREWANUI MEETING 'l'lie president (Mrs Marqniaru) presided at the July meeting of the Parewanui Women’s Institute, and there was a large attendance of members. Mrs 11. Last-Ilarris, who has been ill for some wefks, was heartily welcomed buck. Mrs Marumaru was elected delegate to attend the conference to be held in Auckland this month. It was decided to hold a dance and card party on August 2 to raise funs for the blind, crippled and poor, admission to be: Gentlemen Is (Id; ladies, a basket. During the afternoon two demonstrations were held, Miss Tricker (Bulls) displaying some very useful articles made from ohl felt hats, and Mrs Apirana demonstrating flax work. Members showed keen interest, and both Indies were aevorded votes nf (hanks. Similar compliments were passed to Mesdames Tricker and Harvey, who judged the jam roll competition, the result being as follows: Mrs Marumaru I. Airs Governor 2. The singing of the National Anthem brought an enjoyable afternoon to a close. TOMATO SOUP. Serve butler beans on toast garnished with Gregg’s Tomato Soup.
