TRENTHAM PURCHASE
WOOD BUYS SNOWLAND. The Trentham owner-trainer W. J. Wood, who has recently scored five successive wins with Arctic King, made a trip to Blenheim early iu the week to purchase the dam (Snowland), from Mr J. Fuller, and he returned on Tuesday with the mare, from whom ne wil] now breed. Snowland’s last foal, to Rabbi, proved deformed, but she is again in foal to the samp sire. During lhe coming season Wood will send her to S.cgfried. Wood has not yet decided in what events Arctic King will start at the Grand National meeting, but if ’.lie gelding goes on well and the weight >s considered satisfactory he iriay be a starter in the winter Cup, despite that as a slow beginner he may be umiei some disadvantage in a big field. Wood still holds the gelding on lease but a purchasing clause may be exercised at any time.
