LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT

MOTORIST’S LUCKY ESCAPE [ Per Press Association. J WAIPUKURAU, July 18. Struck by a train last evening at a level crossing on the main road between Waipukurau and Waipawa, a car owned and driven by Mr. W. Goring Johnston, of Tamumu, was hurled back across the road, down a bank and through a fence. The driver had a miraculous escape, suffering only shock and slight injuries. The car was badly smashed.
