A representative funeral followed the remains of Mr. Alexander Jarvie to .Clifton cemetery yesterday afternoon, where Rev. T. G. Shulton read the burial service, followed by a Masonic service by J?. Asst. G. D. C. Deighton. assisted by P.M. Walker ami Bro. j Nile. M:<uy old friends came from distant parts to pay their last respects Ito a venerable old gentleman. The pall-bearers were Messrs. C. E. Vile, C. W. Fairer, T. Carson, P. Thurby, J. G. Mitchell and Al. Anderson. , On Wednesday Bulls Basketball Club sent a team to Taikurea. and defeated Taikorca, by .18 goals to 12. Scorers for Bulls were Airs. P. Cole (.12), and Misses Al. Kearney (3) and J. Button I(3 >. Those who goaled for the losers I were Mrs. Ward (7), Miss Hill (3) I ami Airs. Locke (2). Afternoon tea was provided, and the outing was a very '.enjoyable one.
