GIFT PARTY

Saturday evening, Julv I'l was R scene of great, enjoyment and frivolity at the residence of Air. and Airs. ,1. Brass, Victoria Avenue, when an evening was given in honour df Alias Dora Healey, who is to ire a July bride. The hostesses were Mrs. Threadgold and Afrs. Brass. The rooms were tastefully decorated, the cardrOom in red camellias and red blossom and tne dance and games room in crimson and gold, with fernery. The entrance hall represented fairyland decorated with ferns and lanterns. Flag “500” was played, the winners being Air. and Airs. Seeling. Miss Seeling and Mr. Swan consolations going to Mrs. Tavlor, Mr. Amies, Miss Mayo, Mrs. W. Healey. During the evening the party was favoured by a, xisit from the Male Choir Quartette, Messrs. Whelan, Williamson. AV. and J. Healey. The listeners greatly appreciated the singing of “Take Me Back to Ohl Virginie.” The young couple spent the evening in dancing and games and competitions galore. For supper assembled m the drawing-room, afterwards being entertained with a tap duo by the Misses G. Threadgold and N. Riley, which received great applause. Before Miss Dora Healey and Air. Whiteman opened their parcels of beautiful gilts from the guests of the evening, .Mrs. Threadgold presented the bride-to-be with a clothes peg bouquet, tastefully made by Miss Mayo. The evening was brought to an enjoyable close by community singing, solos being sung by Mr. B. llo<ir, accompanied at, tho piano by Mrs. W. Healey and Airs. Amies, Among those present were Air. and Airs. AV. Healev, Mr. and Mrs. .1. Hrtilcv, Air. and Mrs. A. Mayo. Mr. and Airs. Seeling, Mr. and Mrs. Hoar, Air. ami Afrs. Aimies, Mr. and Airs. Beadle, Mesdames Taylor and Gregory. Messrs. F. Emmett, F. Whiteman. W. Hasler, J. Hasler, G. Hasler, B. Healey, R. Robinson. S. Hodson, R. Healey, b. Swan, G. 'l’hreadgold, and J. Brass. Misses D.
