PALAIS DE DANSE

Adding to its high degree of popularity the Palais de Danse was again the scene of gaiety on Saturday night. A well conditioned floor and congenial surroundings, together with musi-e of high degree as played with masterly skill by musicians chosen for their individual ability, thus ensuring a standard unexcelled by other musical organisations has earned for the Palais do Danse the distinction of the city’s leading dancing hall by the acclamation of patrons during several seasons. The hand’s range and choice of numbers incorporate, all the latest and encore after encore is vociferously demanded. Coloured lights an 1 streamers added to the gay spectacle and a specially selected programme of winter-time numbers was indulged in from 8 till midnight. A delightful supper was served in a number of sittings and reflected credit upon those responsible for its dispensation. The time-honoured custom of waltzing for Dame Fortune’s favour saw all present engage in the merry whirl, and the lucky recipients (Aliss Hartley and Air. Hodges, Aliss Mathews and Mr. Linsen, Miss Joyce Parkes and Mr. J. Lang. Miss D. O'Grady and Mr. Syd. Cooper) were heartily applauded by those less fortunate. Afr. Bort Gilroy, as usual, fulfilled the duties of Af.C. in his inimitable manner and brought a delightful function to a happy termination as the midnight hour was reached.
